Subliminal Signals: The Unseen Power of Osmosis in Our Behaviour and Decisions
By Alexandra Wenman
As an extremely sensitive psychic, mystic and alchemist, until I learned to master my abilities, I was always fascinated by how the energy and people around me could influence my emotions, thoughts and feelings in such a way that I was previously unable to distinguish what was mine and what belonged to another. I would very often take on another’s emotions as though they were my own. And, when I became a healer, I then believed it was my job to release these energies purely because, if I could feel them, I assumed I must be somehow responsible for them.
When I finally understood the vital importance of mastering healthy boundaries and discernment, I began to delve into topics like ascension symptoms and how human beings are returning to our sacred blueprint, where telepathy and empathy are actually part of our natural senses that we should be using to navigate the world around us. However, most people have been socially conditioned to ignore their natural instincts and intuition in favour of the logical, practical, egoic mind and so appear to be ‘asleep’ to the subtle energies and frequencies that surround us all the time.
In order to make sense of how mystics, seers, healers, super-empaths and the hyper-vigilant experience the world, I wanted to delve into the scientific evidence that would support my inner knowing – that we are all connected as part of a vast web of consciousness and our environment, and the people in it, are directly shaping our experience even when we are unaware that it is happening.
This knowing of our interconnectedness went rather a few steps further when I discovered that the 5G wifi network was actually amplifying a lot of the negative energies in the ethers around us. I learned from personal experience how living in a subliminal information superhighway can impact the neural pathways of the brain and predispose your mind and body to thoughts, feelings, emotions, and even beliefs and memories that are not your own.
Luckily for me, back in 2012, I had been gifted a potent alchemical healing system, which I was told by the angels and my guides would help to offset a lot of the impact of ‘dirty tech’ in future years to come. The night the 5G network was switched on in my neighbourhood, I felt it like an extremely unpleasant electrical surge running through my whole body until I was eventually able to transcend it using the ‘Precious Wisdom Alchemy’ healing system I had been given by the councils of light.
From my perspective, what hurts me, hurts my sister or brother, and vice versa. From the perspective of quantum physics, distance makes no difference. We can no longer turn a blind eye to what is happening in the world around us because – if you aren’t already – pretty soon you’re going to start feeling each other. When I discovered this, I uncovered the magic of understanding that when I go within to heal myself, I am also helping to heal the world.
Read on to discover how you are being subliminally influenced all the time, what you can do to guard against the negative impact of subliminal programming, and how you can use this knowledge to take your power back, help to heal and empower yourself and others, and shape your own destiny…
In our everyday life, the subtle energies and behaviours of others can profoundly shape our thoughts, actions, decisions, desires and even our overall wellbeing. This phenomenon, often operating subliminally, influences us through a complex interplay of psychological, social and energetic factors.
The Science of Osmosis in Human Interaction
The term "osmosis" traditionally relates to the movement of molecules across a membrane, but in a psychological context, it describes how we can subconsciously absorb ideas, emotions and behaviours from those around us. This form of osmosis can significantly impact our mental and physical health. According to studies, such as those published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, our environment continually affects our subconscious, altering our state of mind and body without direct communication.
The Mind-Body Connection
The connection between the mind and body is a pivotal channel through which these influences operate. Research in psychoneuroimmunology has shown that our thoughts and feelings can induce changes in our biological systems, suggesting that the emotional states of those around us can affect our own physical health. For example, a study from the American Journal of Public Health demonstrates how stress and emotions can manifest physically, affecting everything from our immune function to our cardiovascular health.
How Our Environment Impacts Our Health
Epigenetics, as explored by pioneers like Bruce Lipton, unveils the profound influence our environment has on our genetic expression. In his groundbreaking work and highlighted in his recent talk on ‘The Honeymoon Effect’ in London (which I was lucky enough to attend), Dr Lipton has argued that genes are not destiny; rather, it is the environment that shapes our biology. This emerging field suggests that everything from the food we eat to our thoughts and emotions can modify the markers that control gene expression. Thus, our health and behaviour are dynamically woven into the fabric of our environment, highlighting the fluidity between our biological systems and external influences. This perspective empowers us to actively shape our genetic outcomes through conscious choices and interactions with our surroundings, emphasising that we are not mere victims of genetic inheritance, but active participants in directing our biological destiny.
The 100 Monkey Syndrome and Collective Consciousness
The 100 Monkey Syndrome, a term coined from an observational study on Japanese macaques, illustrates how learned behaviours can seemingly spread over populations without direct interaction. While controversial and often misinterpreted, this phenomenon metaphorically underscores how human behaviours and knowledge might spread through collective consciousness, affecting societal norms and individual behaviours. This concept has parallels in human society, where ideas and movements gain momentum and spread across communities, as detailed in Malcolm Gladwell's book, "The Tipping Point."
Subconscious Mirroring and Emotional Contagion
The phenomenon of emotional contagion, where we subconsciously catch and mimic the emotions of those around us, plays a significant role in our social interactions. Studies have shown that emotions can spread among groups just like a virus, influencing our mood and behaviour without our conscious awareness. This mirroring effect is particularly strong in close relationships and community settings, where frequent interaction naturally aligns emotional states. Understanding this dynamic can help us create healthier environments both personally and professionally.
The Role of Mirror Neurons in Social Learning
Mirror neurons, discovered in the early 1990s, provide fascinating insights into the neural mechanisms behind our ability to empathise and learn through observation. These neurons fire both when we perform an action and when we observe the same action performed by another, essentially simulating the experience in our own brains. This mirroring mechanism forms the basis for much of our learning and socialisation, explaining how behaviours and skills can be passed down without explicit instruction, influencing us subtly yet profoundly. This also suggests that simply by observing others, we can feel empathy, learn new skills, and even adopt behaviours subconsciously. This phenomenon helps explain why people who live together often begin to mimic each other's mannerisms and why intense emotional experiences can be contagious in groups.
What emotions are you absorbing?
A study conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison found that stress could be contagious between individuals. Researchers observed that when individuals were around others experiencing stress, their own bodies released cortisol, a hormone associated with stress. The implications of this study suggest that the emotional states of the people around us can directly influence our own, often without us being aware of it, highlighting how interwoven our emotional lives are with those in our surroundings.
The Power of Collective Consciousness
The concept of collective consciousness extends the idea of interconnectedness to a broader societal level, suggesting that societies share beliefs, values, and attitudes that shape individual behaviour. This form of consciousness is not just a reflection of aggregated individual awareness, but a phenomenon that can influence individuals in return. For instance, shifts in societal norms and values can lead to significant changes in individual actions and societal structure, demonstrating a dynamic interplay between the collective and the individual.
These examples underscore the profound impact our environment and social interactions have on our subconscious minds, shaping our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in ways we often don't recognise. By becoming more aware of these influences, we can choose more deliberately the environments and associations that best support our personal growth and well-being.
We are all one in the vast web of consciousness
Dr Dean Radin's extensive research into quantum entanglement offers intriguing insights into how our environment influences us at a fundamental level. In his studies, Radin explores the concept that once particles become entangled, the state of one (no matter how far apart) can instantaneously affect the state of the other, a phenomenon that Einstein famously referred to as "spooky action at a distance." Applying this principle to human consciousness, Radin suggests that our thoughts and intentions might interact with the physical world in more profound ways than previously understood, demonstrating that human consciousness can be influenced by, and may influence, our environments through quantum entanglement. This body of work invites a reconsideration of how interconnected we are with the people, objects, and energies around us, deepening our understanding of the human experience within the universe's interconnected web.
Ascension and Enhanced Human Capacities
As humanity progresses into what many spiritual communities refer to as an "ascension," there is a growing awareness of our interconnectivity. This shift towards higher consciousness includes increased empathy, telepathy, and a deeper understanding of non-material influences on our lives. These changes suggest that as we evolve, our ability to influence and be influenced by others extends beyond traditional sensory interactions and includes energetic and spiritual dimensions.
Manifesting Through Social Osmosis
The principle that 'you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with,' often attributed to motivational speaker Jim Rohn, highlights the importance of surrounding oneself with individuals who embody the success or qualities one aspires to achieve. Joining groups that align with your goals, such as writers' workshops or business networks, can accelerate personal and professional development by leveraging the collective energy and knowledge of the group. I remember putting this theory to the test a few years back and when I decided I was finally going to become a published author, I joined a writer’s group – not more than two months later, I was signed to an agent and working on my first oracle card deck pitch to publishers.
Beyond the Physical: Spiritual and Non-Material Influences
Our connections aren't limited to the physical world. Divine beings such as angels and spirit guides can also influence us subliminally. Engaging with these benevolent beings through meditation or prayer can provide guidance and clarity, subtly steering us towards our highest good. (To read more about how to connect with angels and spirit guides to enhance your health and improve your overall life, check out my book ‘Archangel Alchemy Healing – The Celestial Science in the Vibration of the Universe’.) Similarly, cultural influences such as media, music, and advertising often operate below our conscious awareness, shaping our preferences, beliefs, and behaviours in profound ways.
By understanding and integrating the unseen influences in our lives, we can consciously navigate our paths with wisdom and grace, fostering environments that nurture our deepest well-being and help us manifest our greatest potentials.
Meditation for Clearing Unwanted Subliminal Influences
To harness the positive aspects of these influences and shield against the negative, consider a daily meditation practice:
Find a Quiet Space: Begin in a quiet, comfortable setting where you won't be disturbed.
Set an Intention: Focus on clearing unwanted influences and enhancing positive ones.
Deep Breathing: Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and visualise a white bubble of light surrounding you, protecting and energising you.
Call on Archangel Michael: Ask for protection against lower energies and for assistance in clearing your space.
Visualise and Affirm: Imagine any negative energies dissolving away and affirm, "I attract only what serves my highest good." See the bubble around you filling with more and more light in the form of positive energy and know that you are magnetising only thoughts, feelings and intentions that are for your highest good.
Give Thanks: Conclude your meditation by thanking the divine for the protection and clarity, feeling the renewed energy in your body.
Meditation: How to Harness Positive Subliminal Forces for Manifestation
Preparation: Find a quiet space where you will not be disturbed. Sit comfortably, preferably in an upright position that allows your spine to be straight. Close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths to centre your focus and calm your mind.
Step 1: Grounding and Centering
Breath Work: Start by focusing on your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose, allowing your abdomen to expand fully. Hold it for a moment, then exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat this several times to deepen your relaxation. As you breathe in, intend that you are breathing in purifying light and love. As you breathe out, release any negativity.
Visualisation: Imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet deep into the earth. Visualise these roots anchoring you firmly to the ground, providing stability and strength.
Step 2: Clearing the Mind
Mindfulness: Notice any thoughts that come to your mind. Acknowledge them without attachment and let them float away like clouds on a windy day. Each exhalation helps you clear any persistent thoughts, making room for new possibilities.
Silence: Allow yourself to sit in the silence that follows your mindfulness exercise. This silence is fertile ground for planting the seeds of your intentions.
Step 3: Setting Your Intention
Clarity: Think about what you want to manifest. Be as specific as possible in your mind. See it clearly as if it is happening right now. What are you doing? Who is with you? What emotions are you feeling?
Affirmation: Create a positive affirmation that encapsulates your intention. For instance, "I am joyfully embracing new opportunities that align with my passions and skills."
Step 4: Engaging Subliminal Forces
Subliminal Visualisation: Imagine your affirmation written in a beautiful script, glowing with energy. See this script repeated all around you in the environment, on the walls, in the sky wherever your mind's eye can place it. You might also hear beautiful music and tones, or see symbols of light.
Energy Flow: Visualise the light or energy coming from these words and flowing into you, filling you with their power and possibility. Feel this energy reinforcing your intention, making it stronger and more real.
Step 5: Gratitude and Release
Gratitude: Take a moment to feel gratitude for this process and for the manifestation coming your way. Trust that what you have put out into the universe will come back to you.
Release: Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment. Wiggle your fingers and toes, and when you’re ready, open your eyes.
Step 6: Integration
Daily Reminder: Keep your affirmation somewhere you can see it daily, like on your phone, computer, or a sticky note on your fridge. This will serve as a subtle reminder to your subconscious throughout the day, reinforcing your manifestation.
Step 7: Closing
Intention: End your meditation by taking a few deep breaths and gently stretching your body. Carry the feeling of empowerment and clarity with you throughout your day. Trust that the more you claim back power over your subconscious by making it conscious, the more you will become less permeable to unseen negative energies and more aligned to invisible help and assistance.
