Alchemist of the Month: Dr Bruce Lipton
Experiencing the Honeymoon Effect: Bruce Lipton’s Enlightening Talk in London. By Alexandra Wenman
Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to meet Dr. Bruce Lipton at his talk in London, hosted by TCCHE, where he delved into the fascinating interplay between biology, belief and the environment, as outlined in his groundbreaking work, ‘The Honeymoon Effect’. Dr Lipton, a renowned cell biologist and bestselling author, shared his insights on how we can consciously create our own ‘heaven on earth’ by harnessing the power of our minds.
I mentioned Dr Lipton’s fascinating work in my own book ‘Archangel Alchemy Healing – The Celestial Science in the Vibration of the Universe’ as it offers scientific evidence for the existence of the soul and spirit, and life beyond the physical. It was such a wonderful moment to be able to share this with Dr Lipton and I also told him that my own father, a medical doctor, had read his book ‘Biology of Belief’ many years ago.
A huge part of my own alchemical healing work is about changing our subconscious programming so we can live more fulfilling lives and ground heaven on the Earth, so I was very interested to hear Dr Lipton’s take on how we can sustain the Honeymoon Effect in our waking lives.
Understanding the Honeymoon Effect:
Dr. Lipton began by explaining the concept of the Honeymoon Effect — a state of bliss, passion and energy that most people experience in the early stages of a deeply committed relationship. According to Dr Lipton, this isn't just a fleeting phase, but a glimpse of what is possible when we live in harmony with our truest beliefs and desires. He argued that this state can be sustained in all areas of life when we align our conscious and subconscious minds.
The Science of Belief:
Central to Dr Lipton's discourse is the idea that our beliefs shape our biology and that we are not stuck with the issues or even the illnesses we have been led to believe we are genetically pre-disposed to at birth. Citing his research in Epigenetics, he explained how our perceptions influence our cells and can alter our genetic expression. This scientific perspective underscores the power of positive thinking and its physiological impacts, suggesting that by changing our thoughts, we can directly influence our health and wellbeing.
Evidence for the Soul:
‘Epi’ means ‘from above’ or ‘over’ and in his talk, Dr Lipton showed incredible evidence for how we need spirit to exist, let alone function in this world. He talked about how our cells are like TVs and our cell receptors are like the aerials on the TVs, which are picking up a signal from what is known as the ‘Field’ and this field could also be referred to as the soul, God, source, spirit consciousness or the divine.
Dr Lipton says: “You are not in this body. Your body is a TV set, which is broadcasting your show.”
Dr Lipton showed fascinating research to prove that it is our unique signal or spirit which makes us unique and allows us to be alive. He showed slides of two liver cells belonging to two different people. The two cells were identical apart from one thing – the only thing that was different about these liver cells and which showed that they belonged to two different people was the existence of the unique receptor cells on the cell membrane. If you put person A’s cell into person B’s body, person B’s body would reject the cell because it would not recognise that cell as being its own. However, Dr Lipton demonstrated that if you remove the receptor cells from the cell membrane, the two cells just become liver cells and are then able to be placed into any body.
The Importance of Environment in Maintaining Health and Happiness:
As our receptor cells on our skin and cell membranes are constantly picking up on the energy and influences around us – and processing and analysing it – our environment and the energy and nutrition we put into our bodies has a huge impact on our DNA, genetics and biology. Toxins can exist in many forms from physical poisons such as pesticides on our food to energetic toxins like EMF and even low-frequency conversations and arguments. Dr Lipton showed a video scan of a baby in the womb during an argument between the parents and the foetus jumped off the wall of the uterus in a stress response, even though the baby would not have known what the argument was about. The mother’s environment and her stress levels directly impact the development of the baby on a mental, physical, emotional and spiritual level.
Trauma is a toxin which can have a huge impact on the developing personality and health of children. Many of us have experienced some form of trauma in our lives at some point, which has put us into survival mode, and when memories of these traumas are triggered in our adult life, it is as though the trauma is still playing out and it puts the body into a stress response, such as fight or flight.

The good news is there are now many healing and therapy techniques to help us overcome and integrate trauma so we can move forward and achieve health and happiness in our lives.
Dr Lipton showed evidence for how our environment controls our genes and genetic expression. He talked about the importance of living in like-minded community, saying that nature is simple and humans are like cells. Cells need to group together in community and work in harmony for the body to function properly. So in order for humanity to function properly, we need to work in harmony and community.
“A human is a giant cell. A cell is a mini person,” says Dr Lipton.
Dr Lipton says the signal controls life. The only thing missing from a dead person is the signal. Otherwise everything else remains the same – the cells are all still there, but no signal.
Environmental signals shape our reality. If you send a healthy signal to your cells, you have healthy cells. Dr Lipton explained that 90% of cancers have no genetic linkage. Only 1% of cancer can be linked to genetic pre-disposition, which means our environment plays a huge part in our health and wellbeing. In short, if we are happy, we are healthy.
I have often said that our physical comfort and safety directly impacts our mental and emotional health, and Dr Lipton’s work supports this and, in my opinion, offers irrefutable evidence for it.
Changing Your Beliefs Can Change Your Genetics:
Dr Lipton has proven in the test tube and lab that Epigentics control your biology. As ‘Epi’ means above, this means you are above your genetics, so you have the power to take back control of your own health by changing your environment, perceptions, beliefs and choosing how you want to live. If you decide you want to live heaven on earth, you can.
Dr Lipton says that 75-90% of all doctor visits are down to stress and 99% of all health issues start with the signal: thoughts, trauma, toxins and so on. If it all starts with our thoughts, we have the power to think differently and change our reality.
Dr Lipton says: “The mind is the sole governing agent of the body… You don’t have to change the world, you just have to change you.”
How to Change the Programme and Alter Your Environment:
Dr Lipton offers three techniques to help change your mind and change your environment for the better. They are:
Self hypnosis / listening to guided meditations as you sleep
Practice and repeat new positive behaviours daily
Seek out techniques and healing modalities that help you change your subconscious beliefs and programmes
He says: “To change your life, change the programme.”
Living Heaven on Earth:
One of the most profound takeaways from Dr Lipon’s talk was how we can apply the principles of the Honeymoon Effect to experience heaven on earth. Dr. Lipton outlined several strategies:
1. Awareness and Mindfulness: By becoming more aware of our subconscious programming, we can actively choose thoughts that support our wellbeing and happiness.
2. Cohesive Relationships: Harmonious relationships are foundational to maintaining the Honeymoon Effect. Dr. Lipton stressed the importance of communication and understanding in nurturing relationships that reflect our highest selves.
3. Environmental Influence: Our environment significantly impacts our cellular biology. Creating surroundings that uplift and inspire can help sustain the positive effects of the Honeymoon Effect.
4. Continuous Learning and Growth: Embracing a mindset of growth and continuous learning can lead to sustained personal and professional development, keeping the honeymoon phase alive in all facets of life.
Practical Applications:
Dr. Lipton’s talk wasn’t just theoretical; he provided practical tools and exercises to help attendees apply these insights. For instance, he demonstrated how meditation and visualisation techniques could be used to reinforce positive beliefs and weaken the grip of negative subconscious programming.
The Role of Community and Collaboration:
A key theme of the day was the importance of community in creating a supportive environment that encourages positive beliefs and personal growth. Dr. Lipton encouraged us to seek out and nurture relationships with like-minded individuals who inspire and support our highest aspirations.
Conclusion:
Dr. Bruce Lipton’s talk was not only enlightening, but also deeply inspiring. It reaffirmed my belief in the power of our minds to transform our lives and the world around us. As I integrate these principles into my own life, I am reminded of our incredible potential to live fully, joyfully, and in harmony with our deepest truths.
